Bay County is Making it Easier to Find a Pet Online
The Bay County Animal Control Department is making it easier to adopt and find lost pets from the comfort of your own home. All it takes is a click of the mouse to view hundreds of pets that are available right here in Bay County. The Bay County Animal Shelter uses petharbor.com, a not-for-profit website, to publish photos and information on animals currently in the shelter. The website lets you simply type in your city or zip code and you can search pets available for adoption. You can also search for missing pets, even post information on pets you find. A list of pull-down options allows you to specify the breed, sex, and age of the animal you're looking for. If you do find an animal you want to adopt you will have to go to animal control to fill out paperwork, and to pay the $75 adoption fee.Bay County officials are optimistic this new technology will help match needy pets with a good home.
